The Treat team has logged some serious travel miles. And after traveling with a multitude of bags, we’ve made a list of our favorites, taking into account everything from special features and quality of materials to functionality and style. Whether you’re packing for a three-day getaway to the coast or three weeks in Italy, these bags will get you and all your favorite things to your final destination. And they’ll look good doing it, too.

Paravel Aviator Carry-On Plus
Not only is this the prettiest suitcase you’ll ever own, it’s the most sustainably made. Paravel bags boast an official carbon-neutral interior lining made from recycled water bottles, as well as the use of recycled materials for exterior construction and zippers. The suitcase’s 360-degree swivel wheels glide smoothly over almost any surface, and its textured finish hides scuffs. With smart interior pockets, a compression board to squeeze just a little more in and a removable laundry bag, this one checks all our boxes. Those who tend to overpack should check out Paravel’s Packing Cubes to maximize every square inch.

Filson 48-Hour Tin Cloth Duffle Bag
Filson is well-known for its exceptionally well-made goods, and this overnight bag is no exception. Its reinforced base and multiple carrying options make it ideal for work, play and travel. Oil finish Tin Cloth repels rain and snow, and the adjustable and removable shoulder strap allows you to carry it on your shoulder or cross-body. Available in two neutral colors with beautiful leather accents, this bag is as good looking as it is functional. And if you can’t be patient while the 48-Hour Duffle Bag is restocked, check out the Ripstop Nylon Pullman, a stylish carry-on that can also be worn as a backpack.

Patagonia Black Hole Wheeled Duffel Bag 40L
There’s a reason why you see Patagonia’s Black Hole Duffel Bags every time you walk through an airport: they’re sleek, work in all kinds of weather, hold a shocking amount of gear and last forever. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes with all kinds of extra features and accessories, but our favorite by far is the wheeled duffel, as it is truly the most versatile bag on the market. It morphs from a backpack to a rolling suitcase faster than you can say “let’s go,” making it a great choice for adventure travel enthusiasts, business commuters and young explorers alike. And Patagonia is well-known for its sustainable business practices, as well as its ironclad product guarantees.

Away The Large Flex
Let’s face it: some of us like to pack everything. This expandable suitcase is the largest on our list, and we love everything about it. With thoughtful details like a removable laundry pouch, an interior compression system and a washable inner lining, this suitcase will get you where you need to go without feeling limited by a smaller-sized bag. TSA-approved locks, a lifetime warranty and easy personalization make this one worth every penny. If you’re not sure whether it’s the one for you, Away offers customers the option to try the bag for 100 days, and if you’re not totally satisfied, you can simply return it for a full refund.

Briggs & Riley Sympatico International 21” Carry-On Expandable Spinner
Sleek, lightweight and durable, this suitcase is designed especially for carry-on travel, but not at the expense of space. With its CX technology, this hard-shell suitcase can be expanded up to 22%, then compressed back to original size with ease. It has multiple interior pockets, a sleek, telescopic handle, and is the most stable wheeled bag we’ve ever laid our hands on. Additionally, its soft-touch interior prevents wrinkling, making this one a dream for business travel. It also has a framed leather personalization patch on its front, making for easy monogramming.

Free People East End Leather Backpack
This backpack is a favorite among the moms we know for its durability, seemingly infinite number of secret pouches and cuteness factor. Plus, the more you use it, the better it looks. It allows you to stash your phone, snacks, a change of clothes, headphones, laptop and toys without looking sloppy. The slouchy design hides wear and tear, and the interior lining is easy to wipe clean. Soft, adjustable straps and a choice of four beautiful artisan colors make this a bag to hang onto for life.

Fjällräven Vardag Totepack
Lightweight and durable, its just-right size make this versatile totepack a no-brainer. It has a padded pocket for a laptop and separate pouches for smaller items, and performs well as an everyday tote and as a carry-on during travel. Made from recycled and organic materials, it comes in eight spectacular shades and is reinforced on the bottom so it can stand alone. It can be worn as a backpack or carried as a tote. Fjällräven is known for smart, simple designs and this one definitely hits the mark.

Clare V. Jewelry Roll
This thoughtfully designed jewelry roll is the loveliest way to keep your most precious belongings secure when traveling. With multiple tabs for earrings and necklaces and a cotton-lined zippered pouch for bracelets and rings, this versatile and butter-soft suede-lined leather pouch is not only functional, but a beautiful addition to your baggage. Add monogramming to its exterior for an extra special touch.
